Here’s a quick tip for homeowners to prevent water drainage issues.

Today I’m looking at a few components that are super critical when it comes to proper drainage from your gutters. Here at The Anderson Group, this is one of the key things we look for in homes. As you’ll see in the video above, this particular gutter comes down into the ground and runs all the way out into the yard. It’s called a French Drain System, and it’s great because it’s essentially out of sight.

However, it’s important to check yearly that these aren’t clogged. The only way to do that is by running water through it to see if it overflows. It must be pointing away from the house. So many foundation problems are caused by improper drainage. If you’re going to have a system like this, make sure it leads away from the house so it won’t affect the concrete, wood, or anything else in your home.
